Hilton Expands with $75M Fiji Hotel Project – What’s Next?

Paul Hutton, the area vice president and head of Australasia for Hilton Asia Pacific, announced the addition of the Hilton Garden Inn Fiji, developed by Carpenters Group Fiji, to its hotel portfolio in Australasia. The first phase of the $75 million project was inaugurated by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Biman Prasad on Thursday.

Situated at the Suva foreshore, this initial phase is projected for completion by August 2025. Hutton noted that the new hotel will complement existing Hilton properties in Fiji, including the Hilton Fiji Beach Resort and Spa and the DoubleTree by Hilton Sonaisali in Nadi.

“This project represents the 60th Hilton Garden Inn initiative currently in progress, and we anticipate tripling the brand’s presence in Australasia over the next five years,” he stated.

Once completed, the Hilton Garden Inn Suva will feature 178 rooms, a restaurant and bar, a gym, and a pool. Additionally, it will mark a significant waterfront development, boasting over 40,000 square feet of retail, entertainment, and dining options, alongside more than 50,000 square meters of commercial and hotel space.

Hutton emphasized that Hilton is among their fastest-growing brands, with over 1,000 Hilton Garden Inns operating in 62 countries worldwide.
