Hilton Expands Its Horizon: New $75M Project in Fiji

Paul Hutton, the area vice president and head of Australasia at Hilton Asia Pacific, announced that the Hilton Garden Inn Fiji, developed by Carpenters Group Fiji, is expanding its hotel portfolio in the region. The first phase of the $75 million project was inaugurated on Thursday by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Biman Prasad.

Situated along the Suva foreshore, this first phase is projected to be completed by August 2025. Hutton noted that this new project will complement Hilton’s existing properties in Fiji, which include the Hilton Fiji Beach Resort and Spa as well as the Doubletree Hilton Sonaisali in Nadi.

“This project marks the milestone of 60 Hilton Garden Inn projects now in progress, and we plan to significantly expand the brand’s footprint across Australasia within the next five years,” Hutton stated.

Upon completion, the Hilton Garden Inn Suva will offer 178 rooms, a restaurant and bar, a gym, and a pool. It will also represent the first waterfront development in the area, encompassing more than 40,000 square feet of retail, entertainment, and dining spaces, alongside over 50,000 square meters dedicated to commercial and hotel operations.

“Hilton is one of our rapidly growing brands, with over 1,000 Hilton Garden Inns operating in 62 countries globally,” Hutton added.
