Jonathan Hill is gearing up for a crucial fight against Fijian Champion Sitiveni Nawai for the Super Welterweight title at the upcoming South Pacific Boxing Promotion. The match is set to take place on October 26 at Prince Charles Park in Nadi. Hill has been putting in intense training and acknowledges the challenges he has faced along the way.
“Training has been hard, and it sucks but then I need all the training if I want to win this fight,” Hill commented. He has demonstrated a strong commitment to his preparation, recognizing that this moment is significant for his career. Despite the tough training routine, he remains motivated by his discipline and determination to succeed.
“Sometimes laziness overcomes me, but then the discipline and the will to win this fight kicks in, so I jump back to my feet,” he explained. The event will also highlight three world titles alongside numerous international fighters, contributing to the excitement and pressure surrounding Hill’s title shot.
“The tournament is big with boxers competing for the three world titles and a lot of international boxers. I am sure we will be televised internationally as well, so that is a big deal,” Hill expressed with enthusiasm.
A win over Nawai could be a game-changer for Hill, aligning him with international recognition and potentially paving the way for future title fights abroad. “If I win this fight, I will become the champion of Fiji and maybe after this an overseas title,” he said, making his aspirations clear.
