Marist Brothers High School athletics coach Antonio Raboiliku is thrilled about the upcoming Men’s Blue Ribbon event at the Fiji Finals, expressing confidence that it will be one of the most exhilarating competitions in recent history. With an impressive lineup of athletes posting similar times in their zones, the race for the top prize remains highly competitive, with Raboiliku asserting that any runner has the potential to seize victory.

One athlete to watch closely is Nathaniel Chand of Suva Grammar School, whom Raboiliku has recognized as a strong contender, reflecting on Chand’s consistent record of winning gold medals. He also mentioned the experienced Bruce Rauqe, a bronze medalist from last year – both are expected to be tough competitors alongside the standout athlete from RKS who triumphed at the Tailevu Zone.

Raboiliku is particularly optimistic about the 100m race, predicting it will showcase fierce competition among eight strong competitors. The long-anticipated Coca-Cola Games National Championships are set to start tomorrow at HFC Bank Stadium in Suva, with the community eagerly looking forward to live coverage on FBC TV.

The enthusiasm surrounding this year’s event is reminiscent of last year’s performance by Marist Brothers, who dominated the boys’ division with a remarkable medal tally. With the increasing competitiveness among various schools, Raboiliku’s observations highlight the growing spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie fostered by such events, igniting hope for the future of athletics in Fiji.

In advocating for a supportive athletic culture, Raboiliku emphasizes the importance of community involvement, noting that the anticipation of these finals not only underscores individual athletic efforts but also unites schools and supporters in a shared journey toward excellence. As students prepare to compete, the spirit of unity and healthy competition resonating throughout Fiji signifies a promising pathway for young athletes.
