High-profile Figures in Court: What Happened to Cause Case Adjournment?

Former Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama and former Commissioner of Police Sitiveni Qiliho attended a pre-trial conference in court today. The two are accused of unlawfully terminating two police officers three years ago. During the session before Magistrate Jeremaia Savou, their lawyer, Devanesh Sharma, requested additional time to review his clients’ caution interviews. Consequently, the case has been postponed to January 13, 2025.
