‘High Energy’: Flying Fijians Gear Up for Exciting Times

FIJI Water Flying Fijians coach Mick Byrne is pleased with the team’s progress as they prepare for their upcoming Test match against the New Zealand All Blacks in San Diego, USA next Saturday.

He notes that the Drua players are integrating well with those from the Northern Hemisphere, contributing to effective set-pieces. Byrne highlights the strong connections within the team, emphasizing the importance of family ties which naturally bond the players.

“They have experienced each other in campaign mode, it’s very good and a lot of high energy as there always is with Fijians around and the boys are enjoying each other’s company,” said Byrne.

He is pleased to see the players enjoying each other’s company and believes this will benefit the team in their upcoming match.

“I’ve noticed that there are some strong connections within the team, which is amazing to see.”

He also recognizes the significance of preparing early for the next Rugby World Cup and is focusing on developing the team’s set-pieces.

“It’s an exciting time for Fiji Rugby, and we have plenty of time to get ready for the next Rugby World Cup. Right now, we’re focusing on our set-pieces for the upcoming test match.”

“I just need all the players to step up and be the strong, physical team that we know we can be, and let’s take on the match together.”

The Flying Fijians play the All Blacks at 2.30pm next Saturday at the Snap Dragon Stadium.
