FIJI Water Flying Fijians coach Mick Byrne is pleased with the team’s progress as they gear up for their upcoming Test match against the New Zealand All Blacks in San Diego, USA next Saturday.
Byrne notes that the players from Drua are integrating well with those from the Northern Hemisphere, achieving solid cohesion in their set-pieces.
Highlighting the team’s strong bonds, Byrne emphasizes the importance of family ties, which naturally strengthen the players’ connections.
“They have experienced each other in campaign mode, generating high energy, as is always the case with Fijians, and the boys are enjoying each other’s company,” said Byrne.
He believes that the camaraderie within the team will be beneficial for their upcoming match.
“I’ve noticed remarkable connections within the team,” Byrne added.
Focusing on early preparation for the next Rugby World Cup, Byrne stresses the development of the team’s set-pieces.
“It’s an exciting time for Fiji Rugby, and we have ample time to prepare for the next Rugby World Cup. Right now, we’re concentrating on our set-pieces for the upcoming test match,” he said.
“I need all the players to step up and become the strong, physical team we know we can be. Let’s take on the match together.”
The Flying Fijians will face the All Blacks at 2:30 pm next Saturday at Snap Dragon Stadium.
