Two former queens of the Hibiscus festival will serve on the six-member judging panel for this year’s event, set to begin in Suva on Saturday. Anne Dunn, who was crowned Miss Hibiscus and Miss Pacific Islands in 2016, and Patricia Naisara, Miss Hibiscus 2007, will lead the panel. They will be joined by Kamal Haer, Executive Manager of Strategy, Alliances and Loyalty at Fiji Airways; Rabih Yazbek, Country Head of ANZ Bank (Fiji); Robert Thompson, Executive Director of Regions at Tourism Fiji; and Viliame Leqa, Chairman of Yatu Lau Company.
The 2024 Miss Hibiscus Festival will kick off with a parade at 4 PM, featuring a procession led by the Republic of Fiji Military Forces band. The audience can look forward to the nine impressive contestants parading through the city starting from the Flea Market, with the event concluding at Hibiscus Village along the Suva Civic Foreshore.
His Excellency, President Ratu Wiliame Katonivere, will officially inaugurate the 68th edition of the festival at 7 PM, after which traditional entertainment and the introduction of contestants will take place.
