The National Occupational Health and Safety Service, part of the Employment Ministry, is initiating a preliminary investigation into an incident that occurred on an amusement ride during the 2024 Hibiscus Festival.

On Sunday, September 1, the MG Rocket Ride encountered a malfunction when the turnbuckle of cart No. 3 broke, resulting in the cart tilting. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries, as the safety harnesses and the ride’s structure remained intact.

The ride has been temporarily closed while the investigation is ongoing. The National Occupational Health and Safety Service had previously inspected and approved all rides before the festival and has been actively overseeing their operation since the event commenced.
