Two former Hibiscus queens will serve on a six-member judging panel for this year’s festival, set to take place in Suva starting Saturday. The panel is led by Anne Dunn, Miss Hibiscus and Miss Pacific Islands 2016, and Patricia Naisara, Miss Hibiscus 2007. Other members include Kamal Haer, Executive Manager of Strategy, Alliances and Loyalty at Fiji Airways; Rabih Yazbek, Country Head at ANZ Bank (Fiji); Robert Thompson, Executive Director of Regions at Tourism Fiji; and Viliame Leqa, Chairman of the Yatu Lau Company.
The 2024 Miss Hibiscus Festival will kick off with a parade at 4 PM, featuring the Republic of Fiji Military Forces band. Attendees will have the chance to see nine dazzling contestants as they parade through the city, starting at the Flea Market and concluding at the Hibiscus Village along the Suva Civic Foreshore.
His Excellency, President Ratu Wiliame Katonivere, will officially open the 68th edition of the festival at 7 PM. The opening ceremony will also include traditional entertainment and the introduction of the contestants.
