Police Constable Iowane Baleicakau has garnered widespread recognition and praise from the public for his courageous rescue of a child from a flooded home in Sawani.
Lynda Tabuya, the Minister for Women, Children and Social Protection, highlighted PC Baleicakau’s bravery by sharing his photo on the Fiji Police Force’s social media platforms, commending his selfless actions.
The Fiji Police Force emphasized that Constable Baleicakau’s heroism exemplifies the core values of policing, stating, “While others flee from danger, police officers confront it for the well-being of the communities we serve.”
They added, “Without hesitation towards the risks, we continue to provide our services. In spite of facing criticism and negative feedback, we tackle challenges directly.”
