Grab your raincoats and maybe a pair of floaties, because we have a HEAVY RAIN WARNING in effect for the Yasawa and Mamanuca groups, Viti Levu, Kadavu, and a few of the smaller islands that might be more than a little soggy by now.
Throughout Fiji, a HEAVY RAIN ALERT is keeping everyone else on their toes too!
So what’s the scoop? We have an active trough of low pressure lounging over the Fiji group like it can’t be bothered to move. It’s bringing along a friend—clouds and rain—so get ready, because they plan to throw a party for the next few days. A moist northerly wind will also be showing up to keep things interesting.
Forecast to midnight tomorrow for the Fiji group:
Expect periods of rain that’ll be heavy at times—combined with a few thunderstorm appearances to really set the mood. If you’re in Yasawa, Mamanuca, Viti Levu, Kadavu, or those cheeky little islands nearby, prepare for a taste of wild weather. The rest of us can expect occasional rain, which may also be heavy at times, along with the usual dramatic thunderclaps.
Watch out! Localized heavy falls could turn some low-lying areas into mini swimming pools. Moderate to fresh northerly winds will give you just enough breeze to remind you it’s wet and wild out there. The seas will be moderate to rough, much like your favorite reality TV drama.
Looking ahead to Thursday: It’s not exactly a surprise, but we’re in for more periods of rain, heavy at times, and those charming thunderstorms will stick around over Yasawa, Mamanuca, Viti Levu, Kadavu, and the smaller islands as well. The rest of Fiji can expect occasional rain, heavy at times too. Spoiler alert: it might get a little flash-flood-y out there.
Specific areas:
– Navua / Suva / Nausori: Rain, heavy at times, along with some thunder.
– Sigatoka/Coral Coast: You guessed it—expect rain and thunder as well.
– Nadi / Lautoka / Ba: Rain is the theme of the day (and night).
– Tavua/Rakiraki: Keep those umbrellas handy; it’s going to be a wet one!

So, there you have it! Keep your galoshes at hand and maybe binge-watch a show while enjoying the perfect excuse to stay indoors, as our drama-filled weather unfolds!
