Heavy Rain Alert: Residents Urged to Stay Vigilant in Fiji

The National Disaster Management Office has issued a heavy rain alert for the Yasawa and Mamanuca groups, Viti Levu, Kadavu, Moala, and the Southern Lau group. Residents in these areas are advised to stay alert as localized flooding is anticipated in low-lying and flood-prone communities.

Parents are urged to keep their children away from flooded areas and to supervise them at all times. Residents are encouraged to reach out to the Fiji Police Force or the National Fire Authority for assistance and to seek shelter at designated evacuation centers if necessary.

The National Disaster Management Office emphasizes the importance of public safety and encourages everyone to follow official guidelines. They will continue to collaborate with the Fiji Meteorological Service to monitor the situation and provide updates as needed.
