Grab your umbrellas and rain boots, folks, because it’s a wet one! A HEAVY RAIN ALERT is still on for our friends in Kadavu, the Moala Group, the southern Lau islands, the Western Division (including places even its interior can’t escape), Northern Bua, and the Macuata Province. If you’re aiming for a swimming competition in your backyard, you’re in luck!

Current Situation: A lazy trough of low pressure decided to set up camp over the southern regions of Fiji, bringing along a cloud party and plenty of rain for most of our beautiful islands.

Forecast until midnight for Fiji:
Expect sporadic rain, which could get heavy at times—think torrential downpours that might make you rethink your plans to take a walk. There might be a few thunderstorms over Kadavu, Moala Group, and the Southern Lau group that will add a little drama to the rain.

For those in the Interior parts of Viti Levu (that’s Sigatoka through Navua and Suva up to Korovou), as well as Southern Vanua Levu, expect cloudy spells with showers ramping up to rain by the afternoon. And yes, grab a floatation device—localized heavy rain may result in splashy surprises in low-lying areas.

For the rest of Fiji: Occasional rain is on the agenda. Be prepared for some isolated thunderstorms and heavy falls; Mother Nature seems to be in a generous mood today. Northwesterly winds will be moderate, and seas are also moderate—perfect for a day of soaking… if you’re into that.

Saturday Outlook: More of the same! Expect occasional rain around the Western Division, Macuata, and Northern Bua, with Kadavu, Lau, and Lomaiviti groups joining the rain party. You guessed it, isolated thunderstorms and heavy falls are still in the mix!

For the Navua/Suva/Nausori region: Cloudy periods with showers leading to rain that might just take over the afternoon. Thunderstorms are likely to join the fun later.

For Nadi/Lautoka/Ba: Occasional rain is making its rounds, accompanied by some isolated thunderstorms—just a little reminder from Mother Nature to keep you on your toes.

In Sigatoka/Coral Coast, expect cloudy periods turning into rain, full steam ahead by the afternoon.

Tavua/Rakiraki: You’ve guessed it—occasional rain and some isolated thunderstorms will be dropping by.

Yasawa/Mamanuca group: Yep, you guessed correctly again—occasional rain with isolated thunderstorms keeping it interesting.

Labasa: Prepare for occasional rain and spotty thunderstorms.

Savusavu: Cloudy with showers, rain joins the mix, and isolated afternoon thunderstorms might throw in some extra surprise!

For Lau/Lomaiviti: Heavy occasional rain and a few thunderstorms at intervals will keep things lively!

Kadavu, don’t worry; there’s still the promise of occasional heavy rain and a couple of thunderstorms to keep you on your toes.

For Rotuma:
What’s brewing? A trough of low pressure is also playing tricks here with occasional rain, heavy at times, and some thunder thrown in for good measure. Moderate winds and seas are also taking part in this weather festival.

Outlook for Saturday for Rotuma: You got it! More occasional rain and a sprinkle of thunderstorms to keep the excitement going.

So, grab those umbrellas, and remember to splash responsibly!
