Weather Update
Grab your umbrellas and possibly your snorkels, folks! It looks like the Northern and Eastern parts of Fiji are still under a heavy rain alert. A pesky trough of low pressure is hanging around, making sure we have enough clouds and rain to keep us all on our toes. Meanwhile, a moist breeze from the north to northwest is blowing through, and let’s just say—it’s not shy!
Here’s what you can expect before midnight tonight:
Vanua Levu, Taveuni, and nearby islands, as well as Lau and Lomaiviti groups, will be experiencing some spirited rain and the occasional thunderstorm (it might as well be their personal concert). Luckily, the rain should ease up to more manageable showers later on, so stay tuned!
Now, if you’re in the Nadi-Lautoka-Ba-Tavua-Rakiraki area or the interior regions of Ba and Ra, prepare yourself for some cloudy spells and a few showers. Just remember: no overzealous sunbathing today!
For the rest of the gang in Fiji, it’s mostly fine weather, but you might still want to keep your raincoat nearby for those surprise afternoon or evening showers and thunderstorms that love to crash our outdoor plans. We may see some localised heavy rain leading to flash flooding in low-lying areas—so it might be a good idea to check if your inflatable pool is still intact!
Winds will be moderate to fresh, and the sea is expecting a bit of a workout, so swimmers and sailors, tread with caution!
Looking ahead to Sunday, it’s more of the same! Expect cloudy periods and those cheeky showers in our favorite spots like Nadi, Lautoka, and Rakiraki. Just when you think the weather might be playing nice, those afternoon thunderstorms might come charging in like a surprise party you didn’t want.
Let’s break down some locales for Sunday fun:
– Suva and nearby areas: Fine weather will prevail, but those sneaky afternoon showers might just show up uninvited. Min: 24, Max: 29.
– Sigatoka/Coral Coast: Don’t let the fine weather fool you, afternoon showers and thunderstorms are still very much in the picture. Min: 23, Max: 30.
– Nadi/Lautoka/Ba: Just a little cloudy with some showers to keep you guessing—Min: 23, Max: 30.
– Labasa and Savusavu: Expect occasional rain and the thrill of a thunderstorm! Min: 24, Max: 29.
– Taveuni: Rain on your parade—don’t forget your dancing boots for the shower sessions. Min: 24, Max: 30.
Let’s turn that frown into a fun splash as we await some rain to quench the land. Just remember, when life gives you rain, make sure to find the nearest puddle to jump in!
