Attention, residents of the southern and eastern parts of Viti Levu, Kadavu, and nearby smaller islands – you might want to put on your swim goggles while walking your dog! A heavy rain alert is still very much in effect. If you’re after more details, check out the Special Weather Bulletin at the National Weather Forecasting Centre’s website.

What’s happening? There’s a cozy little trough of low pressure hanging over us, and it seems to be indulging in some cloud and rain activities like they’re hosting a never-ending party.

Here’s the forecast until midnight tonight for our Fijian paradise:
Expect occasional rain with a side of isolated heavy downpours and perhaps a raucous thunderstorm in places like Sigatoka, Korolevu, Serua-Namosi, Navua, Suva, Nausori, and areas all the way to Kadavu and the Lau and Lomaiviti groups. It looks like Mother Nature will be shaking her maracas quite a bit!

Elsewhere, you may find yourself under partly cloudy skies, but don’t let that fool you; there might still be some sneaky showers in the afternoon or evening.

Hold onto your hats, as we have moderate east to southeasterly winds blowing, which could get a little fresh; so fresh, you might just want to grab a cup of hot cocoa when you get home! The seas will be moderate to rough, so you might want to leave the surfing to the professionals for now.
