Weather Bulletin: December 30, 2025

Good evening, Fiji! Grab your umbrellas and maybe a pair of galoshes because we’ve got a heavy rain alert in effect for the whole of our beautiful island group. Just when you thought you could finally give your raincoat a rest, here comes a wave of wetness from the west, and it’s planning on sticking around for a few days—like that one friend who overstays their welcome!

Here’s the scoop for the night ahead: Expect some clouds hanging out overhead with a few sneaky showers. Those of you in the western side of Viti Levu—yes, that includes Rakiraki, Lautoka, and Sigatoka—might encounter an afternoon thunderstorm. Think of it as nature’s way of reminding you to check your essential emergency supplies… or at least to stay inside and binge-watch your favorite series!

Starting tonight, we’re transitioning from pitter-patter to proper rain, maybe even some occasional thunderclap surprise parties across the Yasawa and Mamanuca groups and western Vanua Levu. So, if you see lighting, just remember: Mother Nature’s way of showing off!

For most places, it will be relatively fine—aside from a few moody showers in the afternoon or evening. The party starts tomorrow with occasional rain, and those localized heavy falls might just lead to a flash flood over our low-lying areas. So, if you spot creatures building an ark, you’ll know why!

Looking at Thursday, expect the rain to take the spotlight, heavy at times, with a few dramatic thunderstorms bringing down the curtain across many places. Don’t worry; the downpour should finally ease up from the west later in the day—like a good guest that knows when to leave!

Here’s the breakdown for your area:

– Navua / Suva / Nausori: A lovely day greeted by a drizzle or two in the afternoon. Tomorrow, you’ll see occasional rain, temperatures swinging between 24 and 29 degrees.

– For Sigatoka/Coral Coast: Partly cloudy right now, with showers and thunderstorms sneaking back in. Tomorrow’s temps will range from 24 to 30 degrees.

– Nadi / Lautoka / Ba: Similar weather vibes—a brief sprinkle, some fun thunderstorms, and highs of 30.

– Yasawa/Mamanuca group: You’ll see a lively mix of clouds and an eventual shower parade starting tonight, reaching 31 degrees tomorrow.

– Labasa: A little less party, but still cloudy with occasional thunder, hitting up 31 degrees.

– Savusavu: Morning peace before some rain and thunder tomorrow. You’ll be chilling around 29 degrees.

– And if you’re on Rotuma: the heavy rain alert is in place, so get ready for wet weather with gusty winds and highs reaching 30 degrees, making sure your umbrellas are battle-ready!

Alright, folks, stay cozy and dry, keep your spirits high (or at least your coffee warm), and don’t forget to dance in the rain when it gets to that dramatic point!
