Weather Update
Greetings from the weather wizards at the National Weather Forecasting Centre Nadi, as we dive into a forecast that’s more loaded than your grocery cart on sale days!
Attention, all rain lovers: we’ve got a heavy rain alert flashing its bright lights for the eastern half of Viti Levu, including the charming hotspots of Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra, and a few other picturesque spots. If you happen to reside in the Yasawa Group, Northern Division, Lau and Lomaiviti Groups, Kadavu, or those cheeky little islands nearby, don’t get too cozy — it’s about to get wet!
We’ve got a low pressure trough hanging out over the eastern part of the country, and it’s invited clouds and showers to crash the party for the next several days. So, grab your umbrellas, folks — it’s going to be a wet and wild ride!
Here’s what the forecast looks like until midnight tomorrow:
Expect occasional rain, which may become heavy enough to make even the grumpiest of frogs crawl out from under their rocks. Thunderstorms are also on the guest list over Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, and the gang. It’s definitely a “bring your swimsuit” kind of weather! Just be cautious, as those local downpours could lead to flash flooding, so steer clear of low-lying areas if you don’t want your shoes to go swimming without you.
Now let’s sprinkle in some details for Wednesday: the rain will take a breather, but not before bringing us some isolated thunderstorm shenanigans. The rain is expected to calm down to mere showers by later in the day—perfect news for those of you with outdoor plans, just remember the ‘s’ in ‘showers’ stands for ‘smiles’!
For our specific spots:
