A heavy rain warning has been issued for the Western and Northern regions of Viti Levu, specifically from Momi in Nadi to Rakiraki, as well as areas including the interior of Ba, Ra, Nadroga/Navosa, Serua/Namosi, Naitasiri, and Tailevu provinces. This alert extends to Vanua Levu, the Yasawa Islands, and the Mamanuca group.
According to a bulletin released by the Fiji Meteorological Service at 10:30 AM, a slow-moving trough of low pressure is currently positioned in the far Northwest of the country, bringing with it clouds and rain. It is anticipated that this weather system will drift southward and impact the Northwestern areas of Fiji later today.
Forecasts for Viti Levu indicate that the expected rain will develop gradually, increasing to frequent and heavy downpours as the day progresses. Isolated thunderstorms are also likely, bringing the potential for heavy rainfall in these regions.
