A heavy rain alert has been issued for the regions of Vanua Levu, Yasawa, and the Mamanuca groups in Fiji. According to a bulletin from the Fiji Meteorological Service released at 10:30 PM tonight, a slow-moving trough of low pressure, accompanied by significant cloud cover and rain, is currently located to the far West-Northwest of the nation.

This weather system is expected to shift South, impacting the Northwestern areas of Fiji from late tomorrow. Forecasts indicate that showers will progressively increase to frequent and heavy rain in the affected regions. Additionally, isolated thunderstorms are likely, bringing the potential for heavy downpours.

The Fiji Meteorological Service has warned that these conditions may lead to isolated flash flooding in low-lying areas.

As residents prepare for these weather changes, it’s important to stay updated and take necessary precautions to ensure safety. With proper awareness and preparedness, communities can navigate through these challenging weather conditions.
