Attention, weather enthusiasts! It seems the eastern half of Viti Levu is preparing for the ultimate rain dance. Yes, you guessed it—our old friend, the heavy rain alert, is still in the spotlight! Residents from Serua/Namosi to Navua, Nausori, Tailevu, Naitasiri, and the charming coastal paradises of Ba and Ra will want to keep umbrellas on standby, as will those in the Northern Division, Lau and Lomaiviti group, Kadavu, and our beloved smaller islands. Mother Nature is cranking up the moisture meter!

So, what’s brewing in the weather pot? A pesky trough of low pressure decided to camp out over the islands, bringing along a few friends: clouds and showers that will stick around until further notice, much like that one relative who overstays their welcome during the holidays.

Forecast until midnight: Expect occasional rain and isolated thunderstorms to crash the party over Serua-Namosi, Navua, Suva, Nausori, Tailevu, Naitasiri, Ba/Ra, Northern Division, Lau, Lomaiviti, Kadavu, and all those cozy little islands nearby. The potential for heavy falls is also on the agenda, so keep your ducks in a row (or at least your boats on dry ground)!

Sunny days? Not quite. The rest of the group will see cloudy periods mixed with brief showers—perfect weather for ducks but not so much for beach lovers. If you’re in Viti Levu or Vanua Levu in the afternoon or evening, don’t be surprised if you encounter some raucous thunderstorms dropping heavy rains like they’re auditioning for a rainfall contest.

We encourage everyone with waterfront property to keep an eye on local conditions, as localized and persistent rain might lead to flash flooding in low-lying areas. Not the kind of “refresh” we were hoping for! Winds will be moderate to fresh, so secure those patio umbrellas, folks! If you’re planning on hitting the seas, expect moderate to rough waves.

Looking ahead to Friday: The cloudy periods will bumble along with some showers over areas like Serua-Namosi, Navua, Suva, Nausori, Tailevu, Naitasiri, Ra, Southern Bua, Cakaudrove, Lau, Lomaiviti, Kadavu, and the nearby small islands. Partly cloudy elsewhere with afternoon or evening showers flaring up—because why not keep the excitement of surprise rain alive? Thunderstorms will still be making appearances over Viti Levu and Vanua Levu, as if it’s a thunderstorm convention.

Now, let’s break down some specific areas!

For Navua / Suva / Nausori: Get ready for occasional rain and isolated thunderstorms.
Outlook for Friday: More clouds, more showers.

Expect a fine day, except for the brief showers and moderate easterly winds to keep things lively. The seas? Moderate but manageable.

Outlook for Friday: Cloudy periods and showery mood swings with a sprinkle of isolated thunderstorms. Because who doesn’t enjoy a bit of unpredictability?

That’s all for your weather update—stay dry, stay safe, and embrace the rain!
