Navua’s debut in the Pacific Community Cup was marked by disappointment as they fell to a 2-1 defeat against the AuFFI All Stars at Churchill Park in Lautoka. The team, coached by Saiyad Ali, faced an early setback when defender Kolinio Sivoki inadvertently scored an own goal in the fifth minute due to a defensive mix-up.

Despite trailing 1-0 at halftime, Navua put forth a determined effort in the second half. Their persistence paid off when they were awarded a penalty in injury time, allowing Sivoki to redeem himself by scoring the equalizer. Unfortunately, immediately following the restart, AuFFI All Stars surged forward and clinched the victory with a late goal from guest player Jalil Regague.

Looking ahead, Navua will have an opportunity to regroup as they prepare to take on the host team Lautoka at 8:15 PM tomorrow. Meanwhile, the AuFFI All Stars will compete against the Manukau All Stars at 7 PM.

This match underscores the unpredictable nature of football, where a single moment can shift the outcome dramatically. Despite the loss, Navua showcased resilience and determination, signaling a promising potential for their upcoming matches. With a chance to learn from this experience, they can come back stronger and potentially secure a victory in their next game.
