Pacific Specialist Healthcare (PSH) Hospitals is teaming up with the Sugar Cane Growers Fund (SCGF) to enhance healthcare access for over 10,500 sugarcane farmers, offering them medical services at a reduced rate. This initiative aims to ensure that these farmers receive quality and efficient healthcare.
The collaboration emerged following discussions between PSH’s founder and CEO, Parvish Kumar, and SCGF chairperson Ahmed Bhamji, along with Fund CEO Raj Sharma. During a recent visit to PSH’s Nadi hospital, Bhamji and Sharma expressed their admiration for the hospital’s advanced medical technology and high standards of cleanliness.
At the launch of the SCGF Loyalty Programme, Bhamji noted that the Fund has implemented various policy changes to cater to the growers’ needs and has introduced appealing packages to support them. He emphasized that the sugarcane industry, which consists of more than 10,500 productive growers, has significant collective buying power and economies of scale.
Bhamji asserted that the farmers are entitled to receive the best possible offers through this new program, which aims to reward the hardworking sugarcane growers of Fiji. Sharma added that this partnership would enhance the living standards of sugarcane farmers.
The collaboration also includes plans to expand healthcare access to farmers in Labasa, with an outreach program focused on wellness and healthcare information, aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Kumar expressed his commitment to caring for the farming community, acknowledging the historical significance of the sugarcane industry to Fiji’s economy. He recognized the challenges farmers often face in accessing healthcare and enthusiastically joined the Fund’s initiative, allowing sugarcane farmers to benefit from faster and more affordable medical services at PSH hospitals.
This partnership not only strengthens the healthcare infrastructure for rural farmers but also underscores the importance of community support in advancing public health. By focusing on accessible medical services for a crucial agricultural sector, this initiative holds the promise of improving the quality of life for thousands of individuals and families involved in sugarcane farming.
In summary, the alliance between PSH Hospitals and SCGF offers a beacon of hope for sugarcane farmers, ensuring that they receive the healthcare support they deserve while also emphasizing the vital role they play in Fiji’s economy.
