The Ministry of Health and Medical Services is currently looking into a concerning incident at the Warwick Resort in Sigatoka. Seven guests at the resort developed symptoms of nausea, vomiting, and neurological issues after consuming a cocktail prepared at the bar. Among the affected individuals are four Australian tourists, one American, and two foreign nationals residing in Fiji, with their ages ranging from 18 to 56. Due to the severity of their conditions, all seven patients have been transferred to Lautoka Hospital for further treatment.
In response to the incident, the Ministry has deployed a team of Health Inspectors to conduct a comprehensive investigation at the resort. They aim to identify any other guests who may be experiencing similar symptoms linked to the same beverage. Additionally, the Fiji Police Force is also looking into the matter.
As a precaution, the Ministry is urging the public to exercise caution with food and drink choices, especially during the festive season, to ensure safety and well-being.
