The Ministry of Health and Medical Services is actively investigating a concerning incident that took place at the Warwick Resort in Sigatoka. Recently, seven individuals reported to Sigatoka Hospital with symptoms including nausea, vomiting, and neurological issues following the consumption of a cocktail from the resort’s bar.
Among the affected guests are four Australians, one American, and two foreign nationals residing in Fiji. Their ages range from 18 to 56 years, and due to the severity of their condition, all seven patients have been transferred to Lautoka Hospital for further treatment.
In response to this alarming situation, the Ministry has dispatched a team of health inspectors to carry out a comprehensive investigation into the incident and to identify any other guests who might be experiencing similar symptoms after consuming the same cocktail. Additionally, the Fiji Police Force is also involved in probing the circumstances surrounding this event.
Amidst the ongoing investigations, the Ministry has urged the public to exercise caution and prioritize safety regarding the food and drinks they consume during the festive season.
