Pine landowners in the west of Fiji are set to benefit from a health outreach program organized by Fiji Pine’s management. This initiative, led by Executive Chairman Ratu Rakuita Vakalalabure and the Board of Directors, demonstrates the company’s commitment to social responsibility by providing essential healthcare services to often hard-to-reach communities.
The primary focus of the outreach is women’s wellness, highlighting the company’s dedication to addressing the specific health needs of women in these areas. The program will take place in Nabalabala Village, located in the Ra Province, covering various regions including Nayaulevu, Vunisea, Burelevu, Namara, Burenitu, Nailawa, Nausori, Nabalabala, and Maneyava. Other nearby villages such as Raviravi, Vuniyaumunu, and Naivutu will also be included in the outreach effort.
Health officials from Rakiraki, alongside representatives from the Fiji Cancer Society’s Lautoka branch, will join the team during the outreach. This collaborative approach aims to enhance access to healthcare for over 50 landowning units in the interior of Nalaba and Tokaimalo Districts, extending along the coast up to Nadarivatu.
The program is scheduled to begin tomorrow, November 6, 2024, following its successful launch in Bua. This proactive initiative not only addresses immediate health needs but also serves to strengthen community ties and improve overall well-being in the region.
This outreach is a beacon of hope, as it represents a significant step toward ensuring that underrepresented communities receive the care and attention they deserve, particularly women who may face unique health challenges. By focusing on preventive care and health education, the program aspires to create lasting positive effects on the health landscape of the region.
