The former Vice-Chancellor, Professor Nigel Healey, attributed the project’s struggles to a mix of challenges such as the site’s flood-prone nature, budget constraints of the contractor, and delays from the Fiji Roads Authority. As a result, the ambitious $34 million project remains unfinished. However, FNU has reassured the public of its commitment to completing the project by 2026, expressing hope for its future.
