Education Minister Aseri Radrodro stated that school heads are responsible for monitoring teacher performance in schools. In response to a question from Opposition MP Hem Chand, Radrodro emphasized that school leaders are qualified and familiar with the educational plans they implement in their institutions, regardless of their distance from central areas.
He pointed out the critical role that school heads play in supporting both teachers and students within their schools. Regarding teaching hours, Radrodro outlined the minimum requirements: 20 hours per week for early childhood education, 35 hours for primary education, and 37.5 hours for secondary education.
Concerning the shortage of teachers in specific subjects, Radrodro referred to it as an inherited issue, suggesting that Hem Chand had previously been accountable for it during his tenure in the human resources department. He reassured that efforts are underway to recruit the necessary teachers to meet the demands of various schools.
