The Education Minister, Aseri Radrodro, stated that school heads are responsible for monitoring teacher performance within their institutions. In response to a query from Opposition MP Hem Chand, Radrodro emphasized that school leaders are qualified professionals familiar with the teaching and learning plans tailored for their classrooms, regardless of their locations.
He highlighted the significant role these heads play in supervising and supporting both teachers and students in their schools. Regarding teaching hours, the minister noted that early childhood education requires a minimum of 20 hours per week, primary education mandates 35 hours, and secondary education necessitates 37.5 hours per week.
Addressing concerns about staffing shortages in specific academic areas, Radrodro attributed the issue to past management decisions made during Chand’s tenure in the human resources department. He assured that the government is taking steps to address the need for adequate teachers in the respective schools.
