The Education Minister Aseri Radrodro has stated that the performance of teachers in schools is overseen by the heads of schools. In response to a question from Opposition MP Hem Chand, Radrodro emphasized that school heads are qualified and familiar with the teaching and learning plans they have developed for their classes, regardless of their distance from central areas.
Radrodro highlighted the significant role these heads play in monitoring and supporting both teachers and students within their schools. Regarding the required teaching hours, he noted that early childhood education mandates a minimum of 20 hours per week, while primary schools require 35 hours, and secondary schools 37.5 hours per week.
Addressing the issue of insufficient teachers in specific subject areas, Radrodro pointed out that this challenge is a legacy of past administration decisions made during Hem Chand’s tenure in the human resources department. He reassured Chand that efforts are underway to recruit the necessary teaching staff for the affected schools.
