Saula Waqa, a standout player, delivered an impressive performance by scoring a hat-trick as Lautoka triumphed over the Manukau All Stars with a final score of 4-2 in the inaugural match of the Flick Hygiene Pacific Community Cup held at Churchill Park.
Waqa quickly made his mark in the game, finding the back of the net twice within just three minutes, at the 12th and 15th minutes. His contributions didn’t stop there; left-back Sakaraia Naisua extended Lautoka’s lead in the 22nd minute, although Garbhan Coughlan managed to respond with a goal for Manukau shortly after. At halftime, Lautoka held a 3-1 advantage, and Waqa added another goal to his tally in the 38th minute, completing his hat-trick. Coughlan later scored again for Manukau in the 58th minute, but it wasn’t enough to close the gap.
Looking ahead, Lautoka will take on Navua in their next match scheduled for 8:15 pm, while the Manukau All Stars are set to face off against AuFFI All Stars at 7 pm.
