Bayern Munich’s sporting director, Max Eberl, confirmed that the club is currently in discussions with Harry Kane regarding a potential contract extension for the prolific striker. Kane, who joined Bayern from Tottenham Hotspur in a substantial transfer worth an initial 100 million euros (£86.4 million) last August, has made a significant impact in his time at the club.

Since his arrival, the 32-year-old England captain has netted 119 goals and provided 30 assists in 126 appearances, while also contributing to Bayern’s success in securing the 2024-25 Bundesliga title—his first major trophy. During a recent Bundesliga event in Frankfurt, Eberl stated, “We’re talking to Harry, we’re talking. Everyone knows at some point a decision has to be made.”

Kane previously expressed his positive feelings about staying at Bayern, mentioning in October that his desire to return to the Premier League had “gone down a little bit.” With an impressive tally of 34 goals in 30 games this season, including 21 in just 19 Bundesliga matches, he aims to surpass Robert Lewandowski’s record of 41 goals in a single campaign.

The England international’s performances have not only boosted his individual accolades but have also propelled Bayern to the second position in their Champions League group phase, with one match remaining. Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen noted, “Harry has great confidence in us and he feels comfortable in Munich. He and his family are settled in. Therefore, we’ve got absolutely no reason to rush.”

The ongoing discussions about Kane’s contract highlight the club’s commitment to securing their star forward, which could potentially lead to a long-term partnership that benefits both parties as they strive for continued success in domestic and European competitions.
