Arieta Navosa, a dedicated small business owner, has completely turned her life around by pursuing her love for handicrafts. Hailing from Namata in Bau Tailevu and now married in Suvavou Village, the 61-year-old spent many years babysitting until a friend encouraged her to explore a business program, leading her to register her venture.
She became a member of the Fiji Arts Council and launched her handicraft business at the FNPF Plaza in Suva. Notably, her business debut aligned with her 60th birthday, marking a significant milestone.
Arieta specializes in creating handmade earrings, necklaces, tie-dye items, and various bags including laptop, cosmetic, and handbags. Her weekly earnings fluctuate between $50 and over $200, bolstered by additional orders from international customers.
Despite a modest income, Arieta manages to cover her $200 monthly rent and provides support for her family. She encourages young people and her peers alike to have faith in their skills, embrace their talents, and recognize that it is never too late to embark on a new journey. Arieta attributes her achievements to her faith in God.
