Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka presided over the groundbreaking ceremony for the Lautoka Seventh Day Adventist High School today, which signifies a notable advancement in Fiji’s education sector. The new institution is anticipated to welcome students in 2026, enhancing educational access for children in the region.
During his address, PM Rabuka emphasized the significance of this project and expressed appreciation to the SDA Church for its vital role in supporting education in Fiji. He highlighted the contributions of religious institutions, which are responsible for the establishment and management of 95% of the schools in the country.
Rabuka reinforced the Government’s dedication to fostering collaboration with religious organizations and relevant partners to propel the education system forward. He urged all stakeholders involved to unite in making this project a reality, stating, “Let us collectively come together to make this project a reality.”
The SDA Church currently manages three high schools and 12 primary schools in Fiji, further showcasing its commitment to education within the nation.
This initiative reflects a positive trajectory towards improving educational opportunities in Fiji, fostering a spirit of cooperation among diverse community stakeholders, which is essential for nurturing the future generation.
