Green Goals in the North: A Call to Action

Commissioner Northern Uraia Rainima has emphasized the importance of protecting the environment amidst recent developments in the North. He shared these remarks during the opening of the Festival of the Friendly North at Subrail Park in Labasa on Saturday.

Rainima described the evolving business landscape as a significant achievement for the local community. He urged attendees to celebrate these successes while remaining mindful of their environmental responsibilities.

During the opening ceremony, contestants showcased outfits crafted from recycled materials, including sacks, plastics, and old greenhouses, reflecting this year’s theme of “Sustainable Agriculture – Green Economy.”

A total of nine queens are competing for the Miss Friendly North title, alongside three men who are contesting for the title of king.
