Suva Grammar School emerged victorious over Marist Brothers High School to clinch the Vodafone Super Deans under-15 title. In a highly anticipated and intense match, the Lions secured a 31-24 win at HFC Bank Stadium in Laucala Bay, Suva.
Flanker Amani Vatubuli delivered an exceptional performance, earning him the player of the match accolade. The 15-year-old from Lau expressed that the victory was a collective achievement for the entire Grammar community.
“I dedicate this medal and my performance to my mum, my uncle, and my family for their support during the weeks of training. I also dedicate this win to my coach and all my fellow Grammarians. Being named the best player is an honor, and I feel blessed that this achievement is as much for the boys as it is for me,” Vatubuli shared.
He acknowledged that they faced tough competition from Marist in the final, stating, “I want to thank the Almighty God for being my source of strength. Facing Marist in the final was no easy task, but I appreciate God and the team for giving their all.”
As part of their win, the team received $3,000 in prize money.
