The Minister for Employment, Productivity and Workplace Relations has announced that inspections were recently carried out concerning the minimum employment terms and conditions, as well as occupational health and safety issues at Grace Road Company (GRC) across Viti Levu.
Minister Agni Deo Singh stated that the inspection findings indicated violations of the Employment Relations Act 2007 and the Health and Safety at Work Act 1996. He emphasized that the Ministry would pursue further investigations into the concerns identified during these inspections.
“The law in Fiji applies uniformly to both local and migrant workers, and the Ministry is dedicated to ensuring compliance by all employers with employment legislation,” he remarked. The Minister urged Grace Road to adhere to legal requirements and ensure that all employees receive their rightful pay.
