Minister Agni Deo Singh reported that the inspections uncovered violations of the Employment Relations Act 2007 and the Health and Safety at Work Act 1996. He emphasized that the Ministry will pursue additional investigations regarding the concerns raised during the inspections.

“The law in Fiji applies equally to both local and migrant workers, and we are dedicated to ensuring that all employers comply with employment regulations,” he stated. Minister Singh urged Grace Road to align its operations with legal requirements and ensure fair remuneration for its workers.

This proactive approach by the Ministry not only aims to uphold labor laws but also seeks to foster a safe and equitable work environment for everyone in the nation. There is a hopeful outlook that with increased scrutiny and commitment to compliance, workers can look forward to improved conditions and protections in the workplace.

In summary, the inspections at Grace Road Company have highlighted significant legal breaches, prompting the Ministry to take further action to ensure that all workers receive fair treatment and that their safety and rights are upheld.
