The Lautoka High Court has granted a significant breakthrough for Grace Road president Daniel Kim, who is expected to be released soon. The court has mandated that his legal representation engage with the Permanent Secretary for Immigration to negotiate an amicable settlement regarding his release. This development also extends to Dr. Sung Jin Lee, another member of Grace Road.

Justice Anare Tuilevuka emphasized that both Kim and Lee have shown a willingness to comply with any terms necessary for their release. The court has scheduled a follow-up session in Suva on December 2, 2024, to evaluate the progress of these negotiations. Should an agreement not be reached, the court will intervene to establish the terms.

Daniel Kim has been detained since October 5, 2023, and the possibility of his pending release offers hope for resolution. The next court appearance will also involve a production order requiring both individuals to appear in court, highlighting the importance of this matter.

This news represents a positive turn for Kim and Lee, as it opens the door for possible freedom and resolution of their legal situation. The ongoing willingness to negotiate signifies a potential path forward, underlining the possibility of a fresh start.

Daniel Kim, president of Grace Road, is on the verge of release following a court ruling that requires negotiations for terms of release with the immigration authority.
