Grace Road Leaders Near Freedom: Court Order for Amicable Settlement

Spread the love

Daniel Kim, the president of Grace Road, is poised to regain his freedom soon after the High Court in Lautoka mandated that his legal representatives engage with the permanent secretary for Immigration next week to negotiate a resolution for his release. This directive also applies to Dr. Sung Jin Lee, another member of Grace Road.

Justice Anare Tuilevuka emphasized that both Kim and Lee have consistently demonstrated their willingness to agree to any conditions related to their release. The court has instructed the Immigration office to facilitate their release, contingent on an amicable agreement reached between their counsel and the permanent secretary.

The case has been rescheduled for discussion on December 2, 2024, in Suva, to assess whether the parties involved have come to a satisfactory agreement regarding the terms of their release. Should an agreement not be reached, the court will establish the terms at that time.

Kim has been in detention since October 5, 2023, and his potential release marks a pivotal moment in this ongoing legal matter.

In summary, this development brings hope for a resolution that could lead to the release of both Daniel Kim and Dr. Sung Jin Lee, provided that negotiations with Immigration yield a satisfactory outcome. The willingness expressed by both individuals and their legal team to adhere to negotiated terms suggests a positive outlook for the situation as all parties aim for a collaborative resolution.
