Grace Road’s president, Daniel Kim, is set to regain his freedom following a decision made today by the Lautoka High Court. The court has instructed Kim’s legal team to collaborate with the Permanent Secretary for Immigration next week to reach a mutually agreeable resolution concerning his release. This ruling also extends to another associate of Grace Road, Dr. Sung Jin Lee.

Justice Anare Tuilevuka emphasized that both Kim and Lee have consistently expressed their readiness to conform to any terms necessary for their release. As part of the ruling, the court has mandated the release of the individuals once an amicable settlement has been achieved between the parties involved.

The court has scheduled a follow-up hearing in Suva for December 2, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., to review the progress of the settlement. Should the parties fail to reach an agreement, the court will determine the terms during the proceedings.

Both Kim and Lee have been in detention since October 5, 2023, as the situation unfolds.

This ruling offers a glimmer of hope for Kim and Lee, suggesting that their legal struggles might soon come to a favorable conclusion. The commitment to reaching a peaceful resolution reflects a positive approach towards law and order, fostering an environment of cooperation between individuals and authorities. The outcome of this case may pave the way for more efficient resolutions in similar situations in the future.
