Grace Road Company Faces Scrutiny Over Employment Violations

A recent review conducted by the Ministry of Employment, Productivity and Workplace Relations has identified violations concerning minimum employment standards and occupational health and safety protocols at the Grace Road Company (GRC) across Viti Levu.

Minister Agni Deo Singh emphasized that the findings from the inspection indicated infringements of both the Employment Relations Act 2007 and the Health and Safety at Work Act 1996. In response to these issues, the Ministry plans to undertake further investigations to thoroughly address the concerns raised during the inspection process.

Minister Singh reiterated that Fiji’s laws are applicable to all workers, regardless of whether they are local or migrant. He assured that the Ministry is dedicated to ensuring compliance with employment regulations by all employers. He also urged GRC to rectify the identified issues and ensure that workers receive their proper compensation and entitlements.
