The Coalition Government is collaborating with relevant stakeholders to support residents of River Road in Narere and Sawani in Naitasiri who suffered from recent flooding and landslides.
Sakiasi, the Minister for Rural and Maritime Development and Disaster Management, visited the affected families yesterday to explore ways for the Government to alleviate their situation.
He praised the families for their resilience during the recovery process from the natural disasters.
“We will work alongside the Ministry of Agriculture and other government stakeholders. Moving forward, we aim to tackle the flooding issues,” Minister Ditoka stated.
He acknowledged that while a long-term solution is necessary, immediate actions will also be considered.
The Minister was joined by the Permanent Secretary for Rural and Maritime Development and Disaster Management, Isoa Talemaibua, Commissioner for the Central Division, Josefa Navuku, and representatives from other key government agencies in the Central Division.
