Government Takes Action for Flood and Landslide Recovery in Narere and Naitasiri

The Coalition Government is collaborating with key stakeholders to assist residents of River Road in Narere and Sawani in Naitasiri who have been impacted by recent flooding and a landslide.

Minister for Rural and Maritime Development and Disaster Management, Sakiasi, visited the affected families yesterday to discuss how the Government can support them during this challenging time. He praised the families for their resilience as they work to recover from the natural disasters.

“We will be coordinating with the Ministry of Agriculture and other relevant government agencies. Moving forward, we will explore solutions to the flooding issue,” Minister Ditoka stated. “While it may take time to implement long-term strategies, we will do our best to provide immediate assistance.”

The Minister was joined by the Permanent Secretary for Rural and Maritime Development and Disaster Management, Isoa Talemaibua, Commissioner Central Division Josefa Navuku, and representatives from other essential government agencies based in the Central Division.
