Government Shuffle: Key Leadership Changes Unveiled

The Public Service Commission (PSC) has announced a significant reshuffle of Permanent Secretaries, effective February 3, 2025, aimed at enhancing leadership capabilities across vital ministries. Dr. Raijeli Taga, currently the Permanent Secretary for the Office of the Prime Minister, will transition to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Dr. Lesikimacuata Korovavala, who is currently in charge of Foreign Affairs, will take over Dr. Taga’s position as Permanent Secretary for the Office of the Prime Minister and will also act as the Permanent Secretary for Immigration.

In addition, Manasa Lesuma, the Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Housing, will now also serve as the Acting Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Policing as of January 14, 2025.

Chairman of the PSC, Luke Rokovada, emphasized that these changes reflect the government’s ongoing commitment to improve governance and ensure that ministries are managed by individuals with the necessary expertise. This strategic reshuffling is intended to optimize workload distribution and enhance the efficiency of public administration.
