The Public Service Commission (PSC) has announced a significant reshuffle of three Permanent Secretaries, set to take effect on February 3, 2025. This decision comes after consultations with the Prime Minister and is aimed at enhancing leadership within key ministries and optimizing governmental operations across the public sector.

Dr. Raijeli Taga, currently the Permanent Secretary for the Office of the Prime Minister, will transition to the role of Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In her stead, Dr. Lesikimacuata Korovavala, who has been serving as the Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, will step into the Office of the Prime Minister while also taking on the responsibilities of Acting Permanent Secretary for Immigration, directly reporting to the Minister of Immigration.

Additionally, Mr. Manasa Lesuma, presently the Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Housing, will continue as Acting Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Policing, a role he has held since January 14, 2025.

Chairman of the PSC, Luke Rokovada, commented that these changes reflect the government’s ongoing commitment to improving leadership capabilities and ensuring effective management within essential ministries.
