Dr. Raijeli Taga has been appointed as the new Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, effective February 3, 2025. This reshuffle, confirmed by the Public Service Commission (PSC) in conjunction with the Prime Minister, is part of a strategic move to enhance leadership across key governmental ministries.
In this organizational shift, Dr. Taga will transition from her current role as the Permanent Secretary for the Office of the Prime Minister. She will be succeeded by Dr. Lesikimacuata Korovavala, who has been serving as the Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs. In addition to his new role at the Office of the Prime Minister, Dr. Korovavala will also act as the Permanent Secretary for Immigration, directly reporting to the Minister of Immigration.
Moreover, Manasa Lesuma, currently the Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Housing, has taken on additional responsibilities as Acting Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Policing starting January 14, 2025.
