This strategic initiative aims to enhance leadership capabilities across key ministries and optimize management within the public sector.

PSC Chairman Luke Rokovada confirmed that Dr. Raijeli Taga will transition from her role as Permanent Secretary for the Office of the Prime Minister to lead the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Dr. Lesikimacuata Korovavala, currently the Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, will take over Dr. Taga’s previous position at the Office of the Prime Minister. Additionally, Dr. Korovavala will also assume the responsibilities of Acting Permanent Secretary for Immigration, reporting directly to the Minister of Immigration.

In another notable change, Mr. Manasa Lesuma, who serves as the Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Housing, will expand his responsibilities to include acting as the Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Policing. He began this role on January 14, 2025.

These leadership changes reflect the government’s ongoing commitment to strengthen and streamline governance, ensuring that qualified leaders are at the forefront of public service. This reshuffle is part of a broader strategy aimed at addressing issues such as workload distribution and improving service delivery to citizens.

Overall, the PSC emphasizes its dedication to fostering local talent, showcasing confidence in the capabilities of Fijian professionals.
