Luke Rokovada, the Chairman of the Public Service Commission (PSC), has dismissed rumors circulating on social media regarding the suspension of Pita Tagicakirewa, the Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of i Taukei Affairs. In a statement to The Fiji Times, Rokovada characterized these claims as unfounded.
“There is no truth in the story going around on social media about the PS i Taukei Affairs,” he asserted, reiterating the importance of verifying information before sharing it publicly.
In addition, Rokovada stated that the PSC is moving forward with finalizing the accounts for the Permanent Secretary positions in Policing and Immigration, ensuring that key government roles are filled swiftly.
This news comes amidst other recent developments within the government hierarchy, including the appointment of Dr. Raijeli Taga as the Acting Permanent Secretary to the Office of the Prime Minister. Dr. Taga’s transition follows the resignation of Pita Wise, who stepped down for personal reasons. The Prime Minister is currently deliberating on new appointments, reflecting his commitment to effective governance.
