The eagerly awaited East vs. West golf tournament is set to take place tomorrow at the FSC Ba Golf Club, offering an action-filled day of competitive golfing. This annual event will host players from across the nation, featuring a 36-hole contest with divisions for A, B, C grades, as well as categories for Ladies and Juniors.

The tournament will be divided into two sessions. In the morning, participants will engage in a foursome format (alternate shot), where they will team up within their divisions to earn early points. The afternoon session will transition to individual match play, with each victory contributing one point to the team’s total and draws yielding half a point.

The team that accumulates the most points by the end of the day will be declared the 2025 East vs. West champions. Rohit Chandra, the Tournament Director, shared that Golf Fiji is fully sponsoring the event with a comprehensive investment of $3,500 to cover all associated costs. He emphasized, “Our goal is to promote the game and foster healthy competition among golfers across the country. Events like this not only unify players but also help enhance their skills and build the golfing community.”

This year’s tournament follows last year’s event held at the Fiji Golf Club, where the East Team claimed victory. With the West hosting this time on their home turf, spectators can look forward to an intensely competitive and spirited encounter.

The East vs. West tournament not only showcases talent but also reinforces the vital community spirit within the sport, fostering connections that extend beyond the greens. As golfers prepare to compete, the event represents a celebration of skill, camaraderie, and the shared love of golf throughout Fiji.
